October 15, 2026 (ABU ZAIMA) – Five children were killed, and their mother was injured on Thursday when a Sudanese army Antonov aircraft bombed a house in the Abu Zaima area of North Kordofan state.

North Kordofan has seen escalating military operations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The warring parties are fighting for control of strategic areas linking central Sudan to western Darfur.

In recent months, the state has witnessed airstrikes and drone attacks targeting residential areas, markets and civilian vehicles.

These attacks have caused numerous civilian casualties, according to human rights reports and local groups.

The Emergency Lawyers group said in a statement that Thursday’s strike targeted the home of a civilian, Jadallah Mohammed Jadallah.

The bombing killed five of his children, injured their mother, and destroyed several homes in the area, the group added.

The Emergency Lawyers condemned the attack, noting the area had no military presence or armed deployments.

The group described the bombing as a violation of international humanitarian law, which mandates the protection of civilians and civilian objects.

It called for an end to attacks targeting civilians and destroying homes, emphasizing the need for strict adherence to international humanitarian law.

The lawyers demanded accountability for those responsible for the attack to ensure they do not escape punishment.

They also urged legal accountability for violations committed against civilians and justice for the victims and their families.
