Homosexuality will not be tolerated, says south Sudan president

July 31, 2010 (KHARTOUM) – Homosexuality will not be accepted in southern Sudan should the south become independent after a referendum due to take place next year the regions President Salva Kiir Mayardit told Dutch radio on Friday.

homo.jpgIn the interview with Radio Netherlands Worldwide Kiir said:

“It [homosexuality] is not in our character […] it is not there and if anybody wants to import it to Sudan […] it will always be condemned by everybody.”

Kiir ‘promised democracy, equality and justice for all in Southern Sudan’ but made an exception for homosexuals saying that gay people would not be accepted.

The issue of homosexuality is a taboo throughout the continent and many African states have legislated laws to make it a crime.

Finally something that makes sense to Southerners. I applaud the president for being explicit about this moral decay and abomination to humanity. It is unnatural to pursue a person of the same sex. Even animals don’t do this and neither should human beings. It is a western construct that has no place in the rest of the world. Thank you, Kiir for not mincing words on this issue. Case closed.

praise be to the Lord and bless be to those who fear GOD in the highest. our GOD was not a stupid creator when he create woman alongside Adam, her name was EVA. Our belove president General Salva kiir said what we need to hear. no room at all for gays or lesbians in the land in which two millions of our love ones perished. we may transport democracy somewhere if anybody thinks he or she has democracy and we don’t, but we will not transport Gays and lesbians into our land said our president and the law of our land too.

He told me ” most of the huge guys in their community are gays, they have been doing it that is why they gain power of building their body” He mentioned to Beng Dr John Garang, ” Garang use to have lot of fun with his beloved house boy when his wife Rebecca isn’t around and she knew it, she didn’t have problem with it either.
