Twic East county religious leaders present challenges to GoSS leadership

August 16, 2010 (JUBA) – A visiting delegation of religious leaders from Twic East County and Duk Padiet of Jonglei state has discussed challenges with the leadership of the Government Southern Sudan (GoSS) with the aim of soliciting support.
The religious group which was led by Rev. Peter Rieth Achiek of Twic East Diocese of Episcopal Church of the Sudan met with the Vice President, Riek Machar Teny, on Monday and discussed the challenges for which they needed support.
In a written request presented to the Vice President in a sealed envelope, the religious leaders outlined some of the activities they want to implement in the area which would promote self-reliance as non government employees.
Machar encouraged the visiting priests to play their role as shepherds of believers in their respective dioceses, especially during this critical period as the nation is moving towards the conduct of the referendum.
He said the requests – which were not disclosed in details – would be considered and directed his office’s relevant department to avail some of the needs.

Why did they read the procedures upside down? They should have passed before the governor and the governor in turn would have been they right person to deliver their grievances to the vice president.

religious leaders from Twic county present chellenges to GOSS leadership?!!!!!!, what I can say simply
is these chellenges they are claiming on behalf of Twic east communities have nothing to do with this poor loving people, why?, this is the way they have had been doing during the war era,begging on the name of that geographical area and when the donation come they just keep it for themselves, no developmental projects simplely like constructions of health units and bringing in the supplies of medicines. instead of doing so they just loot the money for renting homes and sending their kids to good schools in east africa. question,are they really still right people to talk on the behalf of those underprivilege communities?, I think no,alot of contributions took place nothing materialize. should any help be granted to those locations, let it be through an international NGOs, handing it to them (churchleaders), is like giving a goat to hyena to it for grazing. that is why they had been abuse by the then Bishop Parade Taban.
