UN rights envoy arriving in Sudan tomorrow
May 29, 2011 (KHARTOUM) – A United Nations rights investigator assigned to Sudan is scheduled to arrive tomorrow in the country in preparation for his final report before the end of his mandate next September.
Idris stressed that Sudan wants to terminate the mandate of the independent expert citing lack of reasons that necessitate his presence and pointing out that the humanitarian situation in the country has become quite stable.
Othman, appointed by the U.N. human rights council to review Sudan in 2009, has been critical of what he described as repression by the authorities in Khartoum against political opposition leaders, journalists and students.
The former Tanzanian judge also expressed concern over violence in the South and Darfur.
In a related issue the Sudanese authorities yesterday released two figures from the Popular Congress Party (PCP) who were detained along with the party’s leader Hassan al-Turabi last January.
The PCP criticized the government for ignoring its memo on its remaining detainees who they claimed were kept without charges and were not allowed to meet with their lawyers.
They also cited the poor conditions in which their members are kept with some who suffer different illnesses and others kept in solitary confinement.

It looks as if the UN rights envoy to Sudan is being led by an Arab. But we can’t trust him and his delegation because he pure Arab and the Islam as the name Ahmed.
We request the UN to be sending neutral people with integrity. Ahmed can go Khartoum but not to Southern Sudan such as Abeiy, Juba, Malakal, Durfur.
Why does UN forget to be visiting BENTIU/UNITY STATE, which is victim of Taban Deng an adopted Arab son of Hussien from Jali tribe of Beshir.
We need Taban Deng audited because he has hidened the Bentiu 2% money since 2005.

I totally supported you man, that is why South Sudanese are been killed routinely by Arabs North and UN never response promptly. That is why i said that Obama Administration is too weak to deal with out matter, so now we are calling Bush Administration to deal with our matter no sooner. How can you send somebody called Mohammed to deal with some name South Sudanese? that is what happened during 1980s when Kofi annan was Secretary general when South Sudanese were being killed by these fellow Arabs without reporting it to International Community.

Please, try to understand the whole content of the article. Don’t assume that someone with a name Mohamed is on the same page with Khartoum. He is like anybody in this African continent who chose to be a Muslim like Mohamed Chol or Abdal Bagi Ayii of Southern Sudan in particular.
The issue here is how the assigned person carries out his duties. The UN Human Rights Envoy to Sudan was a former Tanzanian Judge and currently a UN independent expert. He is expected to investigate and report any violation of human rights committed by Khartoum government in the restive region of Darfur, Abyei and other places of concern. Tanzania has a considerable number of Muslims who are not influenced by extremists’ ideology like Sudan or Somalia to mention few.
If you read the article carefully, you will find that Khartoum is not in a position to be investigated but consider terminating the mandate of this assigned human right expert. The reason cited is not clear but I suspect that Mohamed Chande Othman is not on the same page with Khartoum due to some previous reporting that may have been not in the interest of this National Criminal Party whose head and two others have been already indicted by ICC. Read it over and over, you will agree with me. Thanks.
