WFP plane crash lands in Bor, no casulties

19 October 2011 (BOR) – A United Nations humanitarian aircraft, ZS-EPV, for the World Food Program (WFP) crashed while landing at Bor airport, South Sudan’s Jonglei state at 8:30am on Tuesday 19 October.
Upon landing the aircraft slid off the right hand side of the runway and into waterlogged grass.
Large planes were unable to land at the airport from 8:30am to 2:00pm as there was not enough space for them to land.
The plane’s back left tire broke off as the plane slipped off the runway.
“We suspected that something happened to the tire and we are going to investigate it. They don’t think that it was due to the condition of the runway,” he said.
The crew who of engineers who came from to repair the aircraft hired a crane to move it from the runway.
The head of the engineers told Sudan Tribune that the crushed aircraft was repairable.

Thank God for that UN air crafts are facilitating Humantarian gap in the country. The pilot need to be warn for the failure to check the plane properly before,it air bone.
