Rumbek SPLM assistant secretary warn youth future will lead into tribalism

June 4, 2013 (RUMBEK) – Lakes state’s assistant secretary for political affairs in Rumbek Central county has criticised South Sudan’s ruling party – the SPLM – on it recent conference held in Western Bahr El Ghazal that focused political reform, education, security and development.

Kawaja Kau Madol said that the meeting served to mobilise ethnic groups against each other.

“We shall not address our security, social and political problems using levels of the administrations that are not recognised by our constitution” he also added that “It is advance consolidation of our tribal gaps to compete for power which is not healthy for young nation in our country.”

Across entire South Sudan ten states, young men are jobless and young men are being encourage by politicians on tribal bases. The bride price had increased which the young men without job could not manage to paid dowry. Meanwhile, senior officials employed their relatives and majority with qualification remain without job which dawn criticisms against the South Sudan ruling party, the SPLM.

“It is clear under determination of our institutions that are prescribed by constitution in keeping with those issues. He added that “it can disintegrate the spirit into many regional blocks/groupings that will eventually lead to breaking up of the party,” said Kau.

He appeal to entire South Sudanese youth leaders and SPLM stronghold, Lakes state to be aware of their own future as the country is on rocky road to 2015 general election saying that peaceful option and triblism to be discourage before election stage arrive.

Kau said that “I am appealing to all SPLM members of Rumbek Central county and especially youth to distance themselves from such tribal conferences as it is very dangerous and a bad beginning for such a young nation. We young people should not be misled by those whose days are gone already.”
