Activists to launch constructive peace dialogue in Wau
April 10, 2015 (WAU) – A group of South Sudanese civil society activists are in Western Bahr el Ghazal state capital, Wau to launch a constructive peace dialogue.
Community Empowerment for Progress Organisation (CEPO), a community-based South Sudanese entity is spearheading the initiative.
CEPO’s executive director, Edmund Yakani said the dialogue seeks strengthen the links between government and civil society entities.
“My visit is mainly to organise a launching of productive constructive dialogue with the state government and civil society organisations in order to avoid any confrontational approach towards,” he said.
“Our main objective is to compliment efforts made by each group,” added Yakani.
CEPO, its executive director further told Sudan Tribune, always strives to show solidarity with the people of South Sudan in the wake of the country’s current crisis.
Last week, Western Bahr el Ghazal governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan accused civil society organisations of allegedly deviating from their mandates by engaging in politics.
