W. Equatoria governor sacks county commissioner
April 25 (JUBA) – The governor of South Sudan’s Western Equatoria state has sacked the commissioner of Yambio county by executive order, allegedly in response to demands from citizens.
The gubernatorial order, issued on Wednesday, was announced by state-owned South Sudan Television (SSTV) on Friday.
In a separate order, governor Joseph Bakasoro removed the state advisor for local government, Joseph Sabuni, whom he reappointed as an advisor for economic affairs.
Kuze John Elia, the former commissioner of Yambio county, was replaced with Hussein Enocka Ibrahim, while Hassan Bakhit Awari becomes the new Mundri West county commissioner.
In other decrees, Bakasoro appointed Angelo Bakote Mboringba the new advisor for local government and administration. Mboringha was head of Employee Justice in the state.
According to the executive order, the newly made changes were made to enhance the provision of better services to people of Western Equatoria state.
