Sudan’s Ismail, US’s Powell discuss in telephone call situations in Darfur

KHARTOUM, Aug 19, 2004 (SUNA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail discussed with US Secretary of State Colin Powell developments of the situations in Darfur and the efforts that have been made by the government till now to resolve these situations.

This came in a telephone call between Dr. Ismail and the US Secretary of State. Dr. Ismail said in a press statement he called during the telephone call for lifting the embargo imposed by US on Sudan concerning spare-parts for trains, adding that Powell promised that his country would consider the request.
