Governors from three states of former Western Equatoria issue dismissal and appointment orders

March 1, 2016 (YAMBIO) – A newly appointed governor of the newly created Amadi state, one of three states curbed from former Western Equatoria state last October, has issued a gubernatorial order dismissing one of his cabinet members barely a week after he appointed him as minister in the new state.

The order No. 08/2016 by the governor of Amadi state, Joseph Ngere Paciko, read on Yambio Fm on Monday, relieved education minister, Kenneth Adam Masungu, and replaced him with Abukato Kenyi Lamuri.

The order did not mention any reason as to why Masungu was relieved only one week after his appointment before he could take oath of office.

Meanwhile the governor of Gbudue state, Major General Patrick Raphael Zamoi, issued a decree number 06/2016 for the establishment of a State Investment Commission to formulate policies for the promotion of investment activities in the state. There was no appointment yet of an official to head the commission.

Also the governor of Maridi state, Col. Africano Monday, has communicated a national decree cited as “Republican Decree No. 74/2016 for the appointment of members of Maridi State Legislative Assembly by the South Sudanese president, Salva Kiir.

The appointment was based on the selected members of the SPLM party list. They include representative from Women list who used to serve in the former Western Equatoria state legislative assembly before the state was split into three by a presidential order on 2 October 2015.
