Sudan accused of “targeting, criticizing, undermining” Eritrea: report

eritrea_s_FM-2.jpgKHARTOUM, Nov 2, 2004 (Al-Anba) — The Eritrean foreign minister has seriously attacked the Sudanese electronic media and Sudanese press, saying that Sudan was dealing with Eritrean issues negatively.

In a statement broadcast by the Eritrean Ministry of Information on the Eritrean satellite channel and published on the Internet, the foreign minister, Ali Sayyid Abdallah, said the Sudanese media was targeting, criticizing and undermining the Eritrean government.

He referred to the Sudanese Media Centre (SMC), saying it was issuing poisonous and disturbing news about his country.

the Eritrean Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed a report of the pro Sudanese govt SMC saying that the Libyan Embassy in Asmara submitted a protest regarding the statements made by the Secretary General of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement, Khalil Ibrahim, about the five African state summit held recently in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

Eritrea denied receive any such protest from the Libyan Embassy in Asmara.
