UN panel to submit report on Sudan to Security Council in February
UNITED NATIONS, Jan 24, 2005 (Xinhua) — The report of the International Commission of Inquiry on Sudan is to be submitted to UN Security Council in early February, said UN spokesman Fred Eckhard on Monday.

Once the report goes to the Secretary-General, it would be submitted to the government of Sudan for comment, Eckhard said, adding that any comments that the Government of Sudan might have “will not result in the report being changed in any way.”
The report would then be processed as a document and submitted to the Security Council, most likely around Feb. 1, he added.
The International Commission of Inquiry for Darfur, Sudan was established on Oct. 7 2004 to investigate reports of violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law, and to determine whether or not acts of genocide have occurred in Darfur.
