Northern State bans transfer of goods to RSF-held areas
November 25, 2025 (DONGOLA) – Northern State Governor Abdel Rahman Abdel Hamid issued a decree on Tuesday banning the transport of goods to areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Kordofan and Darfur.
Many areas in Darfur rely on supplies from Al-Dabbah in Northern State, a strategic hub linking RSF-controlled Darfur with parts of Kordofan.
The governor issued Emergency Order No. 6 of 2025, prohibiting the transport of commodities from Northern State to areas where the “rebel militia” operates in Kordofan, Darfur, and the western part of Northern State.
Violators face imprisonment of at least five years and a fine of no less than 10 million Sudanese pounds. Failure to pay the fine results in an additional six months in prison, along with the confiscation of the goods, vehicles, and any other materials involved.
Last June, the RSF seized the strategic border triangle between Sudan, Egypt, and Libya after the army withdrew from its positions, allowing the paramilitary group to expand into the far west of Northern State.
