RSF kill 200 civilians in Darfur attacks, doctors’ group says

December 27, 2025 (SIRBA, West Darfur) – Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed 200 people, including women and children, in attacks on three areas across West and North Darfur over the past few days, a medical advocacy group said on Saturday.

The Sudanese Doctors Network said the paramilitary force targeted Sirba in West Darfur, as well as Um Baru, Abu Gamra, and Kornoi in North Darfur—localities that serve as hubs for thousands of internally displaced persons.

Citing testimony from survivors who reached displacement camps in Tine, Chad, the network said the victims were targeted and killed based on their ethnicity. It described the killings as a “flagrant violation of all humanitarian and international laws.”

The violence has sparked a fresh wave of displacement into Chad, where refugees face acute shortages of food, water, and medical services.

“The continuation of these violations will push thousands of civilians toward Chad in the largest refugee operation these regions will witness,” the network’s statement said.

The group called for an immediate halt to the attacks and demanded “unfettered humanitarian access” for medical and relief supplies. It also criticized what it called “international silence” regarding the escalating violence in the region.

The RSF has been moving to consolidate its control over western North Darfur, with local observers expecting further assaults on towns near the Chadian border in the coming days.
