Sudan’s RSF drone strike kills 10 at White Nile school

March 11, 2026 (KOSTI) — At least nine students and a medical worker were killed on Wednesday when a Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drone strike hit a school in Sudan’s White Nile State, according to local sources and medical groups.

The attack on the town of Shikiri marks the third consecutive day of aerial bombardments targeting civilian infrastructure in the region. The Sudanese Doctors Network reported that 17 others were injured in the strike.

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that an RSF strategic drone fired several missiles at a secondary school in the village on Wednesday morning. The strike caused immediate fatalities and extensive damage to the facility.

The cities of Kosti, Rabak, and Tendalti have faced intensified drone activity from the RSF in recent days. These attacks have increasingly targeted essential services and residential areas across the state.

On Tuesday night, drones struck the Um Dabaker thermal power plant, a key energy hub for the region. The facility was forced partially out of service, causing widespread electricity outages in Kosti and Rabak.

The power plant strike followed an attack on Monday that hit a university student dormitory in Kosti. That incident resulted in several injuries and significant structural damage to buildings managed by the National Fund for Student Welfare.
