March 13 2026 (SHUKAIRI) – Sudan’s army chief and Sovereign Council head, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, ruled out any coexistence with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Friday, vowing to continue the war until the “rebellion” is crushed.

Burhan made the remarks during a visit to the village of Shukairi in White Nile State to inspect the site of a recent drone strike. The military says the attack, carried out by the RSF, killed and wounded several civilians.

The strike on Shukairi follows a pattern of attacks on civilian areas in multiple states since the conflict between the regular army and the paramilitary RSF erupted in April 2023.

Burhan condemned the targeting of non-combatants as “devoid of humanity.” He reiterated the military’s refusal to accept any presence of the paramilitary group or its political backers.

During the visit, the general offered condolences to victims’ families and praised the local community for supporting the armed forces in what the military calls the “Battle of Dignity.”

“There is no coexistence with these rebels,” Burhan told the gathered residents. “We will not accept them or welcome their presence among us. We will not join hands with any party that carries arms or supports the rebellion.”

He renewed a pledge to fight until “total victory” is achieved, asserting that the blood of the victims would not be shed in vain and that “retribution was coming.”

Burhan also emphasized the government’s commitment to providing essential services and development support to the Shukairi area following the damage.

The army chief was accompanied by the Director of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Ahmed Subir, who surveyed the physical impact of the drone attack on the ground.
