Sudan doctors say RSF killed 12 civilians in North Kordofan

March 18, 2026 (BARA) – The Sudan Doctors Network said on Wednesday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) assassinated 12 civilians, including women, and injured three others in the Shuraim Mima area, north of Bara in North Kordofan State. The victims were reportedly targeted on the pretext of belonging to the Sudanese army.

Control over Bara, the second-largest city in North Kordofan, has fluctuated between the Sudanese army and the RSF several times before the paramilitary group seized control of the area this week.

In a statement, the network reported that the RSF committed a “new massacre” in Shuraim Mima. It stated that 12 people, including six women, were executed while three others sustained varying injuries.

The network emphasized that targeting unarmed civilians represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian laws and norms. It added that these actions reflect a dangerous escalation in the pace of violence against innocent people.

The statement stressed that recurring violations by the RSF against civilians in areas under its control demonstrate a lack of commitment to protecting lives and property. It called on the international community to face its moral and legal responsibilities to stop these crimes.

The medical group warned of the severe humanitarian repercussions of such attacks, which drive more citizens toward displacement and worsen already deteriorating conditions.

The network held the RSF fully responsible for the crime and demanded that the international community pressure its leadership to hold those responsible for the violations accountable.

The statement also called for the immediate protection of civilians and the opening of safe corridors for the remaining residents within the villages of Bara.

The RSF has faced numerous accusations of violations against citizens in North Kordofan, particularly in Bara, including killing, detention, rape, kidnapping, and forced displacement over recent months.
