Sudan army says operations destroyed 141 RSF vehicles across three fronts in June
June 14, 2026 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese army said on Sunday its forces had killed dozens of Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters and destroyed 141 combat vehicles along with ammunition depots during targeted operations across three main battlefronts in the first half of June.
The army has made significant advances in the Blue Nile region in recent weeks, reclaiming positions from an alliance comprising the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N). Meanwhile, it has increasingly relied on drones to strike RSF supply lines in Darfur and Kordofan.
An army spokesperson said in a statement that armed forces and allied groups had inflicted heavy losses on the paramilitary group between June 1 and June 14.
In the Darfur sector, the military operations destroyed 29 RSF combat vehicles and killed dozens of fighters, according to the statement.
The strikes in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, destroyed several facilities, including two ammunition depots, two military equipment warehouses, two drone ammunition stores, and a major fuel depot used to logistically support RSF operations.
Nyala serves as the RSF’s primary stronghold and has been designated as the administrative headquarters of a parallel government established by an RSF-aligned coalition. Its airport is reportedly used to receive external military support.
The army statement added that 92 RSF vehicles were destroyed in the Kordofan sector, thwarting attempts by the paramilitary group to destabilize the region.
The military also reported shooting down an advanced, long-range hostile drone in the skies above the central city of Kenana.
In the Blue Nile region, the army said it destroyed 21 RSF combat vehicles and inflicted heavy casualties.
The RSF has struggled to make broad advances in Blue Nile since the beginning of the year, despite maintaining control over Kurmuk and several other positions.
The army maintained that its military operations would continue until the RSF is defeated and security is restored across the country.
The war between the army and the RSF, which erupted in April 2023, has left the paramilitary group in control of most of Darfur and parts of Kordofan and Blue Nile, while the army retains control over central, eastern, and northern Sudan.
