RSF drone attacks kill two in Rabak, army downs drone over El Obeid
June 25, 2026 (RABAK/EL OBEID) – A drone strike launched by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed two civilians at a fuel station in Rabak on Thursday, local sources said, as the Sudanese army reported downing a strategic drone over El Obeid.
The strike in Rabak, the capital of White Nile State, hit a fuel station in the morning, leaving two dead and several others injured.
The assault forms part of an intensified campaign by the RSF targeting fuel stations in El Obeid and along the main highway connecting the North Kordofan capital to White Nile State to the east. The strikes appear aimed at cutting off vital fuel supplies to the region.
In El Obeid, RSF drones have increasingly targeted critical infrastructure, including energy and water sources. The paramilitary group holds positions to the north, south, and east of the city in a continuous bid to seize control of Kordofan’s largest urban centre.
Army air defences successfully intercepted and shot down an RSF drone over El Obeid at midday on Thursday.
The hostile drone was downed while attempting to target the Airport neighbourhood in the city, military sources said.
