Sudan army says destroys 205 RSF vehicles, four drones in recent battles

July 16, 2026 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese army said on Thursday it destroyed about 205 combat vehicles, military supply trucks, and four strategic drones belonging to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during clashes over the past two weeks.

The military has increasingly relied on drones in recent months to strike stationary and mobile RSF targets across the Darfur, Kordofan, and Blue Nile regions.

An army spokesperson said in a statement that military operations between July 1 and July 15 resulted in the destruction of 205 combat vehicles and 17 military trucks.

The army also seized 21 combat vehicles and shot down four strategic FH-95 drones operated by the RSF across several fronts, the spokesperson said.

In Darfur, the military said its operations destroyed 76 combat vehicles and 17 supply trucks, inflicting heavy casualties on the paramilitary group.

In South Kordofan, the army said it destroyed 19 combat vehicles and killed dozens of RSF fighters.

On the North Kordofan front, the military reported destroying 54 combat vehicles, shooting down three advanced FH-95 drones, and killing dozens of opposing fighters.

The spokesperson added that another drone of the same model was shot down in the White Nile region.

In the Blue Nile region, the army said it recaptured the town of Kurmuk and surrounding areas after intense fighting.

The army said troops in the area destroyed 56 combat vehicles, seized 21 others, and confiscated weapons, ammunition, and communication jamming equipment.

The military statement said operations would continue across all fronts until security and stability are restored to the country.
