Sudan doctors’ group accuses RSF of killing 5 civilians in North Kordofan

August 30, 2026 (BARA) – A Sudanese medical group on Sunday accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces of killing at least five civilians and displacing thousands in attacks on areas west of Bara in North Kordofan State.

The Sudanese Doctors Network said in a statement that RSF fighters attacked the villages of Al-Qaa and Al-Kawakiti, west of Bara, on Saturday evening and executed five young men.

The group said the force looted livestock and houses, displacing more than 3,000 people. Some of the displaced, including women, children and the elderly, reached western Omdurman late on Saturday in critical humanitarian conditions.

The RSF could not immediately be reached for comment on the allegations.

The Sudanese army and allied forces recaptured the city of Bara and surrounding territory in North Kordofan on July 25-26, driving the RSF back toward the West Bara and Sodari localities.

Residents from the area said retreating RSF forces escalated attacks on civilians, carrying out killings, looting and forced displacement. They also reported blockades on several villages that halted the delivery of food supplies.

The Sudanese Doctors Network said the attacks aimed to drive residents out of villages west of Bara and loot crops, livestock and civilian property in violation of international humanitarian law.

The network urged the international community to pressure the RSF leadership to halt the attacks, protect civilians, and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches displaced and affected communities.

The conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which erupted in April 2023, has displaced millions of people and created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
