October 16, 2026 (AL NUHUD) – A prominent media official for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Bashar Al-Nahli, was killed on Friday in an airstrike targeting troop movements on the border between North and West Kordofan states, military sources said.

Al-Nahli gained media prominence during the siege and subsequent battles in El Fasher.

He worked with Yassin Ahmed, head of the RSF media department in the state, to publish daily coverage of the forces’ operations until the city fell in October 2025.

He appeared in circulated videos calling for the elimination of El Fasher residents and was seen provoking prisoners on the day the city was captured.

Military sources told Sudan Tribune that an airstrike hit RSF movements in the Umm Samima area on Friday, resulting in the deaths of Al-Nahli and several others.

Lieutenant Colonel Al-Tayeb Khalil, head of the RSF media department, mourned Al-Nahli and described him as a leading figure within their media operations.

Al-Nahli had recently relocated to the Kordofan front with other media personnel after the RSF lost strategic positions and retreated from vital supply routes.

Before his death, he threatened to advance into North Kordofan to force the Sudanese army and its allies to retreat and prevent them from reaching the Darfur region.

He had also recently participated in rallies organized by the Tasis coalition in the West Kordofan city of Al Nuhud.
