Thirty-nine million USD from World Bank for Nile river project, Sudanese official

KHARTOUM, Oct 26, 2003 (KUNA) — Sudan’s Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Major General Al-Tigani Adam Al-Tahir announced Sunday that the International Bank and United Nations Environment program (UNEP) allocated 39 million USD to finance the Nile project.

Al-Tahir said in a press release that the project is aimed at maintaining clean water resources at a time of shortage.

Sudan will be the headquarters for the Nile project adding that his government will exert all efforts for the success of the project
