Lakes Parliamentary women reoganize new association in Rumbek

July 2, 2007 (RUMBEK) — The reorganization of women became so critical to take shape since 2005 in Lakes State. With early action taken by Lakes State parliamentary women had come together to form Association call PROVISIONAL WOMEN ASSOCIATION which will carry on the Lakes state Women Associations.
The meeting was held on Saturday 30 June in Office of MP Adak Costa Mapuor.
According to MP Mary Barnaba , a member of Specialize committee in Lakes State Legislative Assembly said that women have a chance to get proper organize within Lakes State’ the government of Lakes State should know that Rumbek is the centre of GOSS politic and if women are not organize’ this will affect us all.
Mary said the formation of this committee New Body called Provisional Women Association is just interim basic period given to them to grants the rights of women in Parliament and exercises the rights of women to they authority concerns until really elections is done very sooner after grassroot women got understand with is Women Association.
MP Adak Costa, the member of Lakes State Assembly’ said that long time women where been suffering cooking foods to guest and children at every house to house and in ceremony to ceremony. It is now they rights for women in their given 25% by CPA so that they can move a head slowly with good governance in South Sudan.
The New Body Provisional Women Association is as follow:
Mrs. Agum Joseph Kuc” Chairperson for Provisional Women Association”;
Mrs. Mary Atokway “ Member;
Mrs. Helana Akoi “ Member;
Mrs. Adet Awiet “ Member;
Mrs. Akur Mayol “ Member;
Mrs. Nyan-nyang Diyuol “Member.
To be determent later by Chairperson with her members with effect of secretary post.
Nevertheless” Bhar-El-Gazal Women Development Centre (BWDC) could be still under command of Mrs. Adiel Maker Manhom who was officially elected in 1998 by Women groups.
