South Sudan’s security advisor in Khartoum for bi-lateral talks

February 28, 2023 (KHARTOUM) – South Sudan’s national security adviser, Tut Gatluak Manime in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum for bilateral talks the Transitional Sovereignty Council chairman, Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan.

Manime was received upon arrival at Khartoum Airport by the Secretary General of the Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Yusuf.

While speaking to reporters in Khartoum, the aide said his visit comes within the framework of bilateral relations between Khartoum and Juba, adding that South Sudan is keen on sustainable peace and stability in Sudan.

He specifically referred to the positive indicators for Juba workshop on Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan and commitment of the political forces to preserve it and the new matrix for fully implementing the agreement.

“As Sudan follows up the revitalized peace agreement in South Sudan, the Republic of South Sudan also follows implementation of Juba agreement on peace in Sudan,” noted Manime, while stressing that this comes in the framework of cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

Last month, a workshop to evaluate the Juba Agreement for Peace took place in Juba. Representatives from Chad, the United Arab Emirates and members of the Diplomatic Corps attended the workshop.
