SPLM official comes under fire from Sudan ruling party

June 25, 2008 (KHARTOUM) – Officials from Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party (NCP) lashed out at the Secretary General of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Pagan Amum and called on him to resign.

Amum, who is also the cabinet affairs minister, was quoted as saying that Sudan is a “failed and corrupt state”. The SPLM official made the remarks during a forum on press and political freedom in Sudan.

Sudan presidential adviser Nafi Ali Nafi called on the Amum to step down.

“Pagan must be in peace with himself by resigning and it will be welcomed by the SPLM even before the NCP” Nafi was quoted by the daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat as saying.

“The problem of Pagan and the triangle of secularism within the SPM is that they feel disappointed and miserable because the NCP is able to overcome their shrewdness and cunningness and even come out stronger” he added.

Mandour Al-Mahdi the secretary general of the NCP political bureau also described Amum’s statements as “irresponsible for an irresponsible minister who is trying to create a split between the SPLM and NCP”.

Amum was appointed last December in the government of national unity in the critical post of minister for cabinet affairs despite earlier indications that former foreign minister Lam Akol would assume the position.

Many NCP officials look at Amum with suspicion and consider him a hardliner within the SPLM.

The SPLM signed a peace deal in January 2005 with the government of the National Congress Party in January 2005 ending two decades of civil war in Southern Sudan. The peace deal made the SPLM, the ruling party in the south and the NCP the ruling party in the north.

In 2011, southerners will be asked to vote in a referendum on whether they want to be independent or remain part of Sudan.

Many thanks to Hon Amum for his wise and a logical remarks that have made the NCP unconscious.

Sudan is not only “A FAILED AND CORRUPT STATE’but also a deformed state that deserves reformation and our partners NCP failed to understand that SPLM is the only party that could lead Sudan to the highest peak.
However, we Suotherners should know that writing thousand of letters challenging NCP will not make them to change their tactics of playing “Hide and seek game”but we should not leave power to those who claim to have a divine qualification .
I conclude by saying that NCP top elites must bear in mind that politics is a “Life blood of comrade Amum “

The more you hate Mr. Amum, the more popular he become among Southern Sudanese.

Let me caution you (Nafi Ali ) that Pagan will not surrender his miisterial post to any one be it a Southerner or a northerner, he is fit there.

You always like those who can collaborate with you but we can get rid of them as soon as we spotted them

    Pagan keep it up.

Well done Mr. Amum! One thing I would like caution you is that truths are painful, when you hit something in hurtful position, he could not tolerate it. That is how it is. You have blown them through their hurtful positions. If you look back, there is nothing left undone because NCP, the hidden meaning of NIF has an ideology of the past. But time is ticking for them to run short of lies policy. I don’t think that this devil man has authority to propose such stupid idea based on criticism about their divided and rule policy. It is awesome you are there to defend Sudanese’ interest.

The impoverished leadership of Khartoum is a nightmare because the civil war in Sudan teaches us how to handle this gang leader in Sudan. What we fought for, is not just Juunub Al Sudan, it was about the entire citizens including poor Arabs who their voices were not heard by the NIF government. We have seen some Arabs are rallying around us. We should not give a damn criticism to let you relinquish your position. You are chosen to represent the interest of the South and Sudan in general.

Any way let the sleeping lay. The truth will never be destroyed, and that case I would describe you a hero of wards. Deal with them until they learn what the leadership is.

Not-Nafie Ali Not-Nafie will be shut up by International Criminal Court (ICC) very soon.

An ICC’s new list of NIF war crime suspects will have Not-Nafie Ali Not-Nafie on top for his roles not only of Darfur Genocide, but other killings he personally ordered against NIF opponents.

Not-Nafie Ali Not-Nafie was the head of NIF Intelligence Organs following their June the 30th 1989 coup until 2000.

Not-Nafie ordered the massacre of Southern Sudanese, Nuba and Southern Blue Nile officers who were in the Sudanese army.

On his orders, alot of officers, commissioners and non commissioners and civillians were killed in Juba, Khartoum Wau, Malakal, El Damazine and El Obeid. Some of those killing were even against Sudanese norms leave humane alone.

Human beings were thrown away in planes on his oreders such as Macur Thon Arok who was fighting his own brothers and sisters for NIF.

Icc and Human Rights Watch were not blind by then. They knew what Not-Nafie and his NIF bosses were doing and were just gathering evidences that will be enough to lock them up in the Hague for their remaining time of their lives.

Now, it comes the time for them to go to either the Hague or prison in Sudan. There are enough signs of a fail state in Sudan. Everybody sees those signs except genocidal NIF’s leaders.

Mr Pagan is well-prepared for everything NIF that is prefering for. What happened to NIF leaders is simple, a prophecy in Arabic says ” Prepare your weapon if you want to say the truth” so, Mr Amum is well aware of this prophecy and outcomes of telling the truth. SPLM is not easy as that as NIF mistakenly thought to be. SPLM should not respond to irresponsible call of Not-Nafie Ali Not- Nafie otherwise NIF will be the decision maker in the SPLM party.

One could ask Not-Nafie a question, why don’t you respond to Andrew Natsio a former US envoy to Sudan who recently qouted Mr El Bashir in his article as saying he may be the last Arab ruler in Sudan. What Mr El Bashir meant by that was, NIF worked so hard to make Sudan a failed state and SPLM will take over the power and reinstall the rule of law.

Let wait for awhile, if NIF do not urgently hand over war crime suspects, The new list for more NIF war crimes suspects with Not-Nafie on top will be out in December 2008.

I look forward seeing SPLM leadership standing by Mr Amum with overwhelming support.

    Keep-Up Mr Amum!

The call by Nafi Ali Nafi for a resignition of Pagan is outrageous, offensive and has no place in the politics of SPLM. If Pagan tells uncomfortable truth, then the solution is nothing around his resignition but lies in whoever does what he talks about to stop. If the likes of Nafi want to be doing things in the dark without anyone talking about them, then it’s a big big shame on them. You either stop what you do or your evils will be exposed more than you ever know, idiot. By striker K.

I remember Anya nya one agreement failure, it was due to what the NCP is doing now. they want to kill brother by other brother. for NCP not wanting to work with the True son of Sudan is the indirect character assassination because they want to work with fools who are myopic and sycophants to them, I therefore encourage brother Amum to continue without fear by facing the evil that is in Nafi. SPLM should be taking note on this childish thinker like Nafi and warns him because he is a junior staff in Sudan if not by Islamic rule. Nafi and other NCP members who suport him are clearily violating the CPA and they will soon tell to the Sudanese that the CPA is not a Quraan nor Bible to be respected.

Of course it is not correct for NCP to ask the Secretary-General of SPLM and Cabinet Minster in GONU to resign because of a public statement he made against the government. He was exercising his democratic freedom of speech in a democratic society. The Secretary-General got huge support from his supporters and members of SPLM in Diaspora as one could read from usual commentators on this web. But what did SG say and where? There was no full text of his speech publish but only a statement like “failed and corrupt state” This not news since Sudan is build on corruption. News is like when a man bites a dog. Corruption in North Sudan is part of business when you see high rise buildings done by government officials. Relatives of prominent politicians are ones running businesses in the county. SG from his communist background does not like capitalism to flourish in Sudan. Capitalism is about corruption, windfalls, kick backs and the alike. But where did SG made this statement and under what circumstances? If one were to make such statement, then could be regarded either one was high or abnormal because it would have negative impact on the fragile CPA. To elaborate on more on this issue, it is just like NCP and SPLM were eating in the same disk and one of them decided to shit into the disk. Either they have to acquire a new dish or eat in different dishes because of lack of trust. The SG a top SPLM leader through a big stone into NCP glass house when made Nafi Ali Nafi and Mandour Al-Madi burst in out cry. The statement must have been very strong. SPLM house is made of stone and strong foundation, no matter NCP responses back with bigger stone, it never scramble. Somebody who points a figure to his ally must be a clean person. One would assume here the SG, SPLM and GOSS are clean. The cleanliness of GOSS and SPLM is questionable. At the inception of GOSS in 2005, President of Sudan Omer El-Bashir gave US$60 million to initiate the establishment of the government in Juba. The money was squander by top SPLM leadership. No investigation on the money was used up to now. The former minister of finance Mr. Arthur Akwein was remove from office what was regards a embezzlement scandal. No charges were brought against him. He is now a free man and a prominent SPLM from Aweil. A certain doctor from anti-corruption commission went away with US$85,000. There is a bill of US$1.5 million for government accommodation a cost of workshop being settled from public funds now in Juba. Our gallant SPLM forces who liberated us from the yoke of slavery demonstrated in Juba because they were not being paid there dues. Now Mr. Secretary-General how clean are we to point a figure to NCP for failed and corrupt state? This must have a slip of tongue which Nafi and Mandour should forgive our beloved minister.
