W. Bahr el Ghazal health ministry forms advisory body

October 2, 2015 (WAU) –The health ministry in South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal state has officially put in place a health advisory committee for Wau Teaching hospital.

The move followed a ministerial order, which saw 15 board members appointed. The board consists of lawmakers, businessmen, religious leaders, women and youth groups.

The board, according to the new directives, has been mandated to establish hospital polices and also advise the hospital management on decisions to be taken if necessary.

The committee will be monitoring and supervising the operations of the hospital, supporting senior management in the strategic planning, stressed the ministerial order.

“It will work to promote quality and effective service delivery at the hospital and oversight hospital financial management,” it further added.

The board is expected to conduct quarterly meetings to review the service delivery status.
