Sudan’s Vice President says sanitation, roads in southern town to get face-lift “soon”

Aug 26, 2005 — [Presenter] The first vice-president, Salva Kiir Mayardit, says the construction of the roads and improvement of sanitary services in Juba city [southern Sudan] will start soon. Juba radio producer Joseph Pitya reports from Juba:
[Joseph Pitya] He said that sanitation in Juba was not good and in southern Sudan in general. Of course, he is going to agree with some of the companies which will come and develop the sanitation system and the road in Juba in general is not very bad indeed. the constructing of the roads will start in a very quick time so that the people here in southern Sudan can see on the ground that developments are taking place.”
The first vice-president was addressing a rally on Wednesday [24 August] in Juba.
