Two Sudanese banks merge
Khartoum, Oct 01, 2003 (SUNA) — The governor of the Bank of Sudan, Dr Sabir Muhammad al-Hasan, said the merger between the Blue Nile Bank and Mashriq Bank is a voluntary one which comes in conformity with the policies of the central bank and to cope with the ongoing progress in the banking system.
Speaking in a press conference he held Wednesday at the Bank of Sudan, Dr Sabir said the new Blue Nile and Mashriq Bank would be a real boost to the Sudanese and international banking work, hailing the experience of the Sudanese banks in supporting the national economy.
Chairman of the board of directors of the Blue Nile and Mashriq Bank, Muhammad Isma’il, said the new big bank is ready to present all the banking services.
