Sudanese ruling party welcomes visit of Chadian delegation
Oct 27, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Chairman of the Department of Central and West Africa at the External Relations Office of the ruling National Congress party, Hassan Bargo, has described the visit of the Chadian high-level delegation to Sudan Thursday.
Chadian delegation is headed by the Foreign Minister, as representing a qualitative shift in the relations between Sudan and Chad.
Bargo said that the Chadian delegation’s visit will refute the ill-intentioned allegations of enemies which were circulated by certain mass media in the past days, Bargo stressed that the firm ties and the wisdom of the leaders of the two countries is conducive to overcoming all the crises and normal impacts which result from the conflict in Darfur.
The Chadian delegation, which is due to arrive in Khartoum on Thursday, includes the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior and the Director of the Security and Intelligence.
The Chadian and Sudanese sides will discuss issues of mutual concern and ways to overcome the impacts of recent incidents at the joint border area.
He stressed that the Sudanese and Chadian governments are adherent to the stance of not allowing any uncontrolled group to undermine the security and stability in the two countries. He said that the government of Chad is exerting efforts for uniting the stance of Darfur rebel movements toward reaching a lasting solution for Darfur problem.
The government of Chad has asked neighbouring Sudan to disarm a group of army deserters who fled to the Darfur region, acting Defence Minister Mahamat Ali Abdallah Nassour said on Wednesday 26 October.
The minister said the deserters had escaped into Sudan after government troops laid siege to their hideout in the eastern town of Hadjer Hadid, where they sought refuge earlier this month.
