Modern technology a priority for southern Sudan

Dec 7, 2005 — In a world where information is synonymous with power, it almost goes without saying that modern communication technology is a necessity. Those who have it flourish. Those who don’t lag far behind. Southern Sudan might emerge fast and should be like those of growth society which dependent on good communication because communication should be the backbone of progress. Without the modern sharing of ideas and exchange of thoughts as well as others have now, we southern might be in the Dark Age for a while. And thus, if Southern Sudan country wants to grow and be competitive in the real world it is extremely important for it to invest in the best communication technology it can afford.

What would be the beneficial if Southern Sudan deploys modern Communication?

The first benefit of modern communication technology in Southern Sudan is better education. Colleges and universities in Sudan as whole should be upgrading to “higher-tech” classroom environments. Assignments should be submitted online. Discussions shall be held on web message boards and much more. And in some cases, professors should be even teaching from miles away via web-cams and intelligent information transfer protocols. The wealth of knowledge available to students in developing countries is inexhaustible when they have access to good communication technology.

In this case if Southern Sudan will deploy Modern technology, it will certainly improve the ability of technologically equipped individuals to seek and find quality education of their choice anywhere in the world.” Ministry of Education should be aware of the importance of finding education at a global level and emphasizes the fact that competition is also now at a global level rather than a local one which makes good telecommunication that much more important.

Southern Sudan its benefit in modern communication technology is that better technology should brings about larger population. Who wants to live in a place where information is static? Even though Southern Sudan with dry land and poor road maintenance will still bearable when they have reliable phone networks and Internet service provides. Simply put, modern technology is appealing. I am reminding by President of SS (Salva Kirr Mayardit) his visit to USA, and of the frequent technology showcases that he might attended at the white house with American Government in which streams of people were drawn in by the new and the innovative technologies available to them while speaking at the white house. He might been fascinated by what he saw. And because fascination breeds creativity, innovation in developing countries can often lead to more innovation, a cyclical process that is exceedingly profitable in advancing technology standards and attracting more people to developing countries. Aside from just pulling in more inhabitants, modern communication technology can also draw upon better assistance from other technologically advanced countries. Countries that are technologically advanced work more efficiently and effectively when they have access to up-to-date equipment. They are able to attack problems with current methods, which are perfected through years and years of modernization.

And finally, the greatest benefit to Southern Sudan of modern communication technology is that it will allow southern Sudan to improve in the field of business. A productive business class not only raises the value of a country, but also expands on a country’s ability to be self-sufficient. Thus, for most developing countries, the interests of the business class come first. Southern Sudan must make known that the costs drop for telecommunications technologies and infrastructure, the Internet will develop as a strong resource for information for business and as an appropriate means to disseminate information to other businesses and customers.” And this dissemination of information is of the utmost important to Southern Sudan because it finally should gives exposure of previously inaccessible businesses to the general public.

So what do these approaches tell us about deploying modern communication in Southern Sudan? It would be simple to say that modern communication technology is the only thing separating Southern Sudan from other country but that is not the case. There are obviously other factors involved. However, communication technology might be the answer to why some developing countries develop faster than others. It is not unreasonable to believe that effective communication is at the root of many other problems that should prevent Southern from developing. And therefore it is not unreasonable to believe that at the fundamental level good communication technology might be the ultimate solution.
