China pledges friendly relations with Sudan

May 15, 2006 (BEIJING) — Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo said here Monday that China is ready to work with Sudan to push forward bilateral friendly relations.

Nafei_Ali_Nafei_1.jpgWu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese NationalPeople’s Congress, made the remarks while meeting with Nafi’a Ali Nafi’a, deputy chairman for political affairs of National Congressof Sudan.

Wu spoke highly of the stable development of Sino-Sudanese relations, saying the two countries have carried out sound cooperation in politics, trade and international affairs.

Wu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said that the relations between the CPC and Sudan’s National Congress has become a bridge of friendship linking the people of the two countries and facilitated bilateral cooperation in variousfields.

The CPC will further step up its cooperation with the National Congress of Sudan, said Wu.

Nafi’a appreciated China’s long-term support, saying that the Sudan is satisfied with the growth of Sudan-China relations and itis the common aspiration of both countries to boost pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

The Sudanese National Congress will further boost cooperation and exchanges with the CPC so as to contribute more to deepening the Sudan-China relations, Nafi’a said.
