Chinese Communist to promote ties with Sudanese ruling party
May 16, 2006 (BEIJING) — The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to strengthen all-round friendly cooperation with the Sudanese National Congress, the country’s ruling party, said a senior CPC official on Tuesday.
In a meeting with Nafei Ali Nafei, deputy chairman for political affairs of National Congress of Sudan, Chinese State Councilor Zhou Yongkang commended the enhanced cooperation betweenthe two countries in various fields.
Zhou, also a member of political bureau of CPC central committee, said the two countries always help and support each other in bilateral and multilateral occasions. The sound politicalrelations have laid solid foundations for further development of bilateral economic and cultural cooperation, he added.
He regarded China-Sudan cooperation in the oil field as an example of south-south cooperation.
Zhou also spoke positively of the relations between CPC and theSudanese National Congress. “Since the two parties established relations in 2002, they have kept frequent high-level visits and exchanges of experience in governing the country,” he said.
Nafei said his party hopes to further promote Sudan-China cooperation and enhance the two parties’ coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.
