Sudan, South Korea ink deal on computerization projects

Aug 23, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan and South Korea signed Wednesday at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers a contract to implement projects for adopting a computerized system in work of the electronic government.

State Minister at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs Kamal Abdelatif signed for Sudan, while Deputy Director General of the South Korean Daewoo Company signed for the Korean side.

The cost of the contract amounts to $ 11.5 million. Work on the projects will start next month and will be finalized by the end of next year.

The signing of the contract was attended by a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance and the South Korean ambassador to Sudan.
