SSDF should relocate to Northern Sudan

By Justin Machien Luoi

December 1, 2006 — In the fight to look good in the lenses of its bosses in Khartoum, the SSDF and its leaders continue to perpetrate obliteration of the South. They do this with no blink of an eye and as if they are unconscious about their deeds. SSDF has no a vision of its own but acts to achieve four goals that Khartoum longs to see accomplished in the South. First to cause insecurity and instability in the South by instigating confrontation with the SPLA; secondly, to provoke tribal clashes between various tribes; thirdly, be an obstacle to the implementation of the CPA and fourthly, to guarantee that Khartoum win. Therefore, by allying with our historic enemy, SSDF stands for destruction of Southern Sudan, disunity amongst various tribes in the South and it is very clear that it opposes integrity and indeed unity amongst the people of Southern Sudan; in this regard it must relocate to Northern Sudan to better serve its master there.

The recent clashes between the SPLA and SSDF are perhaps an example of SSDF’s ruthlessness. It is in fact very disturbing to all Southern Sudanese who would love to see a total peace descend onto their homeland whether they live in Sudan or outside Sudan. It similarly shows how hazardous SSDF is to stability of Southern Sudan and for this SSUDA/SSDF members must know that they have constituents in the South and they should move north to gain support because that is where their purpose serves.

Although immoral as many now know of the Malakal incident, SSDF self-proclaimed spoke person Peter Chuol Gatluak continue to bombard Southerners with press release that speaks of hate for the South and hailing victories of the Khartoum proxy armed forces, the SSDF. For instance in his latest release which dates, 11-29-06, Mr. Peter Chuol wrote, “more than 150 SPLA soldiers killed inside Malakal city, many have drawn into the river and more are unaccounted for as this time.” He made no mention of civilian deaths which means he and more so his SSUDA do not care about the civilians caught in the cross fire.

In addition, Mr. Peter Gatluak, is very proud to mention that SSDF killed SPLA. Mr. Peter Gatluak has lost memory of the fact that SPLA members are Southern Sudanese and so are most of the SSDF. While Mr. Peter Gatluak Chuol is probably resting on his comfortable sofa and watching TV or writing his SSDF bias press release currently, someone in Malakal, somewhere in Sudan or even around the world for that matter, whose son, daughter, mother, father and relatives died in that clash is moaning and grieving the lose but Peter Gatluak care less about such a people. He rejoices to see them die and drawn. In fact him and SSDF seem to hail victory and proud that they fought against the SPLA and not northern forces. In that same release Mr. Peter Gatluak wrote this in reference to the Malakal incident.

“It is to cover up rampant corruption in government and the latest charges on human abuses by the UN Security Council against the SPLM/A on child or minor conscription into military service. The so-called “Lost Boys of Sudan” were all former conscripts who were snatched from the bosoms of their moms and dads to be educated in Ethiopia. This promised never happened. Many of the young boys between the ages of 5-8 and 8-12 years old were conscripted by the late Garang , Slava and Dr. Riak Machar. Many of them died en route to Ethiopia and many more murdered similar to the Hutus Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994 in the aftermath of the split in August 1991. Many SPLA commanders in the government today should be charge for human rights abuses and are unfit to undertake public service.”

Given these few examples it is clear that the SSUDA/SSDF and its leaders lack the capacity for a national purpose of virtue. For every political organization, delivering the “greatest good” to the greatest number of human masses is always the goal. SSUDA/ SSDF do not fit in this category and miserably failed to follow such a path. Instead they are delivering the “greatest vice” to the people of Southern Sudan. SSUDA/SSDF as an organization has no vision for a peaceful Southern Sudan. The only reason why it continues to function is because it serves the interest of Khartoum, which is destruction and insecurity in the South and eventually to guarantee that Khartoum wins. SSUDA/SSDF leaders must know that Southern Sudan people have chosen to reverse the history of tribal disputes, reverse long history subjugation, over hundred years of exploitation by Khartoum and want peace and integrity of all Southerners to override their personal or tribal interests. From villages to counties, states to regions, peace initiatives have taken place and reconciliation processes are also taking place. Therefore, one will have to choose to live in harmony with others or join the forces of destruction in Khartoum. Southern Sudan must be left free of Khartoum influence and Khartoum proxies must join their bosses in the North and Southern Sudan should remain only for the people of the South and those who love to be at peace with others.
