Sudanese committees discussing sticking issues at peace talks hand over report

KHARTOUM, Dec 29, 2003 — The two committees which have been charged with the responsibility of discussing the issues of the three regions and resources and revenue sharing have finished their work on the sticking issues between the two parties.
The committees presented their reports to the first vice- president of the republic, Ali Uthman Muhammad Taha, and the leader of [Sudan] People’s [Liberation] Movement, Dr John Garang. The two leaders immediately held bilateral meetings today in the afternoon and in the evening on issues regarding the three regions.
It is expected that the leaders will continue with their bilateral meetings tomorrow Tuesday [30 December].
