Sudan to further strengthen its ties with Ethiopia – official

October 17, 2007( GAMBELA, Ethiopia) — The governor of Sudanese Gedarif state, .Abdelelrahman Ahmed al-Khidir said that Sudan will continue to work in cooperation with Ethiopia in different development sectors.

In the 10th Ethio-sudan development commission conference, opened late yesterday Abdelrahman said “Sudan is scaling up its utmost efforts to work jointly with Ethiopia in Multi – development activities.”

The Sudanese official further said “big efforts are underway and more will be done to bring bilateral relations of the two countries at its best.”

The joint Ethio-sudan development commission meeting is believed to bring strong political, economical, social and cultural ties between the two horn nations.

Ethiopia’s Gambella regional president Emod Ebong in his side said “the ongoing meeting of the two nations must continually be strengthen to bring better political, security, trade, Agriculture and health co-operative relations”

“The bilateral relation of the two countries is based on mutual understanding and must both cooperatively work harder to benefit their people” Emod added

Gedarif governor has congratulated Ethiopian people on the millennium celebration and wished Ethiopian people for a peaceful and prosperous future.

In the 3 days joint conference some 150 participants including high ranking Sudanese and Ethiopian official are attending.
