French Total company to resume oil exploration in Sudan
KHARTOUM, Mar 04, 2004 (SUNA) — The minister of energy and mining, Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz, Wednesday received a delegation from the French Total Petroleum Company, headed by the director of the company’s branch in Sudan.
The delegation of the Total Company expressed its desire to resume work in Block (B), especially that it was given this privilege of oil exploration in the 1980s, and taking into consideration the current favourable political and security changes in Sudan, particularly in the peace field.
The minister has welcomed the delegation of the French Total Company, promising to extend every possible assistance to it so as to re-start work in Sudan as soon as possible.
