Sudan, Iran sign memorandum of understanding

KHARTOUM, March 27, 2004 (SUNA) — The Sudan and Iran signed here Saturday, 27 March, a memorandum of understanding at the end of visit of Iranian delegation to Sudan led by the minister of interior of Iran, Abdolvahed Musavi-Lari.

The memo stressed the importance of consultations between the two countries on all local, regional and international issues. The two sides agreed on exchange of visits among the senior officials in the two ministries and expertise in field of training of police.

Minister of Interior Maj- Gen Abd-al-Rahim Muhammad Husayn has asserted the strength of Sudanese-Iranian relations and the two countries’ identical views on the various local, regional and international issues, saying the visit will have positive results for the two ministries, pointing out that the visit of the Iranian delegation comes in the framework of transferring the last year’s memo of understanding into reality.

The Iranian Minister, on his part, affirmed the success of his visit and described it as fruitful and constructive, especially, he said, this during his meeting with President Al-Bashir.
