Darfur Victims are left alone , Darfuris tell UN’s meeting

Statement from Darfur Association Against Discrimination (DAAD) to UN Conference on Apartheid in Switzerland

Darfur Victims are left alone

20th April 2009 — On the eyes of the world community; the Khartoum genocide regime continues systematic, killing, rape and displacement although the perpetrators headed by Janjaweed leader in chief Omer Bashir are proudly moving freely and planning to finish their job.

Dear delegations of UN Conference on Apartheid in Switzerland, Darfur Association Against the Discrimination (DAAD) is kindly calling upon your congregation intended for humanity to hear the voice of the helpless people of Darfur who are left alone stranded in refugees and IDPs camps.

The Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Conference have chosen without hesitation to stand on the side of the perpetrator instead of the victims. However; these organizations know beforehand that the regime in Khartoum continues its crimes on people of Darfur on daily basis; through air bombardments that are supported by: ground troops from Sudan arm forces and Janjaweed militias on the ground; and also using rape as collective punishment. On the other hand the Islamic Fundamentalists in Khartoum have adopted new warfare against people of Darfur which is in an indirect killing by expelling the NGOs to let our people die either by hunger, thirsty or diseases.

Therefore; DAAD is in accord with the words came out from the mouth of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno-Ocampo, who yesterday said; “Darfur crisis is not a humanitarian crisis but an organized genocide”. Hence; we urge your honorable meeting and the international community, not to remain silent on extermination because silence will not help the victims but will help the criminals to accomplish their crimes.

Once again for the critical situations lived by our people in Darfur; the Darfur Association Against the Discrimination (DAAD) is appealing the dear honorable delegates of UN Conference on Apartheid in Switzerland to help the helpless suffering people in the camps to push for the following urgent steps:

To help the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno-Ocampo on his mission to catch the war criminals.
Force the Genocide regime in Khartoum to allow the international NGOs to resume their assistances for the needy populations.
Forces the regime to remove the new settlers and the occupiers from the lands of the refugees and displaced people in camps.

    Dear Mr.Eltahir

You claim that Darfuries are being discriminated against but you forgot to mention that the back bone of the current Islamist regime was Darfuries, including your prominent JEM leader Dr.Khalil.

The killing and rape myth you keep peddling has been refuted by all UN and NGO agencies working in Darfur today.

If any of this happened it did years ago, and today Darfur is nothing but a low intensity conflict, one that is simply politicized by your so called rebel leaders who are living lavishly in Paris and Israel.

If you really seek an end to the war and suffering of the people of Darfur, how about you talk some sense into the stiff heads of your rebel leaders to negotiate a fair end to the conflict, instead of prolonging it?
