South Sudan speaker reaffirms SPLM commitment to unity

June 20, 2009 (KADOGLI) — The speaker of southern Sudan parliament reaffirmed today, in southern Kordofan, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) commitment to the unity of the country.

James Wani
James Wani
James Wani Igga was speaking in a public rally to launch the electoral campaign in the capital of southern Kordofan state, the homeland of Nuba tribes that fought alongside the SPLM during the wartime and now fear for their fate in the event of South Sudan separating following the 2011 referendum.

The Speaker of Southern Sudan Legislative Council stressed the need to maintain a united Sudan, indicating that the unity is a prerequisite for SPLM since its inception and will remain a lofty goal that “we are all working for.”

He said lack of development and services is a problem of the whole Sudan adding the building of a united Sudan based on justice and equality would bring positive change that benefits to all Sudanese.

“This is the vision and strategy of the Movement developed by Dr. John Garang and we will continue to be inspired by,” he emphasized.

Southern Kordofan is a state in Northern Sudan bordering both Darfur and the volatile Abyei region, and was highly contested during the war between the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the government of Sudan.

The Nuba were represented by SPLM at the peace talks that led to the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement, but many are dissatisfied with the outcome of the negotiations and the current political outlook, citing grievances over land reparations, migration routes, lack of development and deliberate undercounting in the April 2008 census.

Igga called on the state government, formed by the National Congress Party (NCP) and the SPLM, work in a genuine partnership and to cooperate for the implementation of the peace agreement saying “We signed it and we well placed to implement it.”

Since the formation of the state government after the CPA, there were continued conflicts between the two partners. However, the NCP and SPLM reshuffled the regional government by appointing the ICC wanted Ahmed Haroun as governor and Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu as deputy governor last May.

Since, the two men work jointly to reconcile the Nuba with the Missiriya and Hawazma tribes as well as to end the political differences between the two partners of the state government.

Wani pointed out the importance of involving the various political actors in the decision making process and to interact with the different segments of the society.

He also called to renounce violence and tribal intolerance as well as to promote coexistence in the state. He added that all the political parties should compete with democratic spirit and abide by the result of the forthcoming election.

The CPA gave the Nuba and the southern Blue Nile limited regional autonomy and a ‘popular consultation’ on the CPA-devoid of enforcement mechanisms.

Logic Boy is back from long way down to see his ERM activities. Thanks to the wise son of Greater Equatoria Mr Hon James Wani. I like the way you teach those junglese how to campaign for better future of South. I would like people like Slava Kiir to see, understand and follow from you. Their arrrogance made them to see themselves like leaders in south but doing nothing only eating, looting of public $$$ and roaming in south for nothing. We as wise people will know how to deal with those junglese, just ignor them for now and they will see the outcomes at that time tomorrow. If Kiir is a wise man why did he stay in Juba not in Khartoum or other parts of Sudan for his own chance of wining the general election. And why did Wani Igga decide to ran around for the benefit of an iliterate and visionless person? This is absolute crazy that Kiir is dreaming to be a president of South other than his fake community of junglese. No mattar but we will see later. If junglese dinkas don’t surrender their madness they will either follow their enslaves to north to face the storm of ERM. every single piece of creature is sick of your madness in south.

Logic is the chairman and founder of Equatorian Resistant Movement (ERM) after achieving its objectives and goals it will reverse to Sudanese Revolution Movement for Democratic (SRMD)

In Kenya they labeled the Ex.Vice President Modi Awori as “Uncle Awori” in parliament as well as it becomes the well known name for him (Awori)in the whole country. He earned this name not just only for his elderly status, but also of his good deeds in how he approaches people in the parliament debates as far as to the common citizens of his country!

And so, it fits for me and other Southerners to call you “Uncle Wani Iga” for keeping our aspirations and hopes alife in relation to the Splm’s objectives and aims it set itself to achieve for the future of our people and the country as a whole.

We’re no longer able to withstand the false and fake democracy that the governments of Khartuom have been playing on us since Sudan’s Independence in 1956 upto the current NCP ruling party in the North.

“No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar, said Abraham Lincoln”, and so, will the brothers in the North have enough room in their political arena to continue deceiving us any more? My answer is definitely not!

So, honorable Speaker Uncle Wani, thank you very much for the job you’re doing on behalf of SPLM and its people. Keep doing that and we’ll rally behind you.

Welcome back Mr.Barking dog instead of Logic boy.I have been looking for you these days.Would you mind telling me the reason why you normally talk against the Dinka community? Anyway you may not be having a reason but bear in mind that One Dinka man or woman is 50 Equatorians’men in term of everything. What of 20 Dinka’s men? Use your own formula to get the right answer to the question and let me have the answer within a minute. Needless to say,With those words from you, Equatorians are not going to rule us for ever and ever.Go back and read what Joseph Lagou did in 1972.I trust only three people in Equatoria for they have participated during the crisis of 1983.Dinkas are not donkeys on which anybody is free to take a joy ride.We know why we fought that is to restore the right and dignity of the Citizens.Shame on whoever talks against us but a time will come.To Dinka’s boys in and out,Logic boy is my house barking dog.He barks at Dinkas when I have failed to give him something to eat.So if you have the same dog like the one I have here then;you should have to provide him with bones.I will demolish your party within no time when you attempt to form it.what I know so far,for you to form a party is like hiring of a vehicle to Heaven. The following communities are the ones which are going to rule in Sudan particularly Southern Sudan:Dinka Bor,Bhar El Ghazel and Ngok, Nuer ‘but’,Shuluk, and Bari in Equatoria. If your tribe’s name is not there then start doing good things now in order to get an admission otherwise. Mr.Barking dog.You have spoiled your future’s life for I have your real name.I just got your name from One of your brothers two weeks ago.So you are going to face the music. When and where ? Nobody knows.Dinka oyee! Ak47 on the right hand side with a pen ready to tune to the language Arabs understand better.Critic Ngueny from Bor town.

How can these people think of uniting the country again, what was the point of those millions of south Sudanese who died? The wanted an Independent, free south Sudan. There is no way we are gonna live together again, no not this time. we must vote for independence in 2011.

This is the kind of activity we need and we have been waiting for by SPLM outstanding figures like Mr. Wanni. All marginalized regions fought beside SPLM need to be reassured that SPLM has not turned them down after CPA has been signed and put on effect. The new Sudan slogans raised by late Dr. John must not go trash bins and replaced by some disappointing ones. We need the ONE MILLION MILES NEW SUDAN DREAM BECOMES TRUE and SPLM is much able to lead that transformation process
