Sudan seeks to develop business with Slovak Republic
July 17, 2009 (BRATISLAVA) – Sudan has invited Slovak companies to do business on the Sudanese market especially in building infrastructure, said interim head of Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) Juraj Kiesel.
Kiesel, further said the energy sector and agriculture, also offered prospects.
The Slovak official made these statements on Thursday following a meeting with a visiting delegation of Sudanese entrepreneurs and representatives of Sudan’s Ministry of Energy and Mining.
“We met with Slovakia’s Honorary Consul in Sudan Nasreldin Shulgami and we concurred that economic co-operation with Sudan is possible in many areas,” Kiesel told the Slovak news agency (TASR).
He said they agreed to hold further meeting in the near future.
The Sudanese delegation complained from difficulties to get a visa to Slovakia but Kiesel reassured them that he had initiated contacts with relevant authorities to grant visa for potential foreign investors and businessmen.
The export-import bank of the Slovak Republic, Eximbanka, will support companies that are interesting to work with Sudan in order to guarantee their business there, the official said.
