Sudan military chief issues stern warning to Chad

August 3, 2009 (KHARTOUM) —The Sudanese defense minister Abdel-Rahim Mohamed Hussein warned Chad on Sunday that his country “will not stand with its hands tied behind its back” as tensions between two countries continue to rise.

“The Sudanese army is ready and capable of responding to recurring Chadian aggression on our soil,” Hussein said in a press conference.

“However, we are have a preference for brotherhood and neighborhood relations to the interests of both people and intertribal relations on any military action,” he added.

Sudan has lodged complaints against Chad last month for alleged aerial bombardments inside its borders.

Ndjamena admitted the attack saying its army attacked inside Sudanese soil to stop a column coming from inside its Eastern neighbor.

Both countries have long accused each other of supporting rebels on each side of the border.

Khartoum has been criticized by the Sudanese public for failing to take any military action against Chad despite the rhetoric. Many feel frustrated that “inferior” military of Chad is able to attack inside Sudan without responding.

The Sudanese defense minister also revealed undergoing work to develop unmanned planes “since three years ago”.

He also said that 90% of heavy weaponry in Sudan is manufactured locally.

The Sudanese army is a 100,000-member army supported by a small air force and navy. Sudan also has a military industry corporation reportedly producing guns and artillery.

HAAAH,Mr.Abdel Rahim, reprisal is the price for tyranny.

Khartoum all these years wants to install her puppet government in chad as she did in Ethiopia, since she has already fallen off with NDJAMENA.

Drum up the war and be ready to flee.

    Hi D. Minister!!

Patience and restraint! But if it has gone too far let’s show the bad face. We must not be intimidated by Chad or any other weasel since we have the long arm to retaliate. They are in bull shit of chronic problems they need to export for distracting their own furious hungry people who may anytime turn on them as they manytimes did.

We are the big patient country but, surely, anytime capable of having the upper hand if even others heavily rely on France.

The cold policy is enough to let them eat themselves or beat the dust. We don’t need more wars unless it has gone too far or obliged to, just for self defense. We don’t seek revenge.
