Somali minister says some insurgents joined government
September 5, 2009 (MOGADISHU) — Somalia’s foreign minister on Saturday said his government was negotiating with Islamist insurgents and affirmed some of them rejoined it in a bid to end the civil war in the Horn of Africa troubled country.
“We have started talking to the rebel groups of Hizbul-Islam and Al-Shebab and some of them have already joined the government and we hope our mission for broader reconciliation will be fruitful soon,” said the minister Ali Ahmed Jama in a press conference held in Mogadishu on Saturday.
“We are working closely with community groups and the country will be under government control soon,” he further said.
The minister pointed out that African leaders during their Tripoli special summit on security issues agreed to send more troops and change the mandate of the AMISON.
However, Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys the leader of Hizbul-Islam asserted today that they will keep fighting against the UN backed government until the withdrawal of the African peacekeepers.
Also despite the relative calm in the town, Al-Shebab fighters on Saturday started digging trenches to block the streets in some neighbourhoods of the capital in a pre-emptive reaction saying government troops had dug new trenches in the streets leading to their positions.

That is good news for Somalia to form their goverment.
The only think that they new is patroling the indian oceans for goods, and get money out of their patrol.
Please that is the act of crimals, i hope not all Somalia involve in that act.
