EU concerned by South Sudan violence and Darfur ceasefire
September 16, 2009 (BRUSSELS) – European Union foreign ministers said concerned by southern Sudan tribal violence and the absence of ceasefire in the western Sudan province of Darfur
In a statement released following a meeting held in Brussels on September 14 the EU 27 foreign ministers urged the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) to complete the disarmament process, as well as demobilisation and the reintegration of veterans.
They further made a “robust appeal” for the two peace partners to respect the deadlines set for 19 August for the global implementation of the comprehensive peace agreement.
They called to immediately respect North-South demarcation, the Abyei roadmap and the decision by the Permanent Court of Arbitration on the Abyei border demarcation.
Regarding the situation in the restive region of Darfur, the EU ministers urged the Sudanese government of and the Darfur rebel movements to urgently engage in the Darfur peace negotiations under the leadership of the UN-AU Chief Mediator, Djibril Bassolé.
They also stressed the importance of the “governments of Sudan and Chad to implement, without further delay, previous commitments, and urges regional partners to intensify their assistance in this process”.
Sudan’s first general elections are scheduled to take place in April next year but the two CPA signatories still diverge on the outcome of the fifth census conducted in April- May as the SPLM rejects it.
The European Council urged in its statement the Government of National Unity to speed up the preparatory work for the national elections planned for April and to resolve the question of the census before the essential voter registration phase in November.
The EU plans to send a fact-finding mission to the country in coming weeks in order to assess in what conditions an EU electoral observation mission may be set in place.
Moreover the European Union ministers regretted the Sudanese government decision to not ratify the revised Cotonou Agreement linking the EU to the group of ACP countries (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific).
Further they said concerned this would have an adverse effect on the situation of the Sudanese populations in need.

The DEVIL UNION works only for its interests, which is why they confused or sometimes failed to sperate and determine the legitimate obvious matters from evilish relentless quests of the like of the insane Northern extremists. They may suggested the right strategy for overcomig the circumstances but when ones look above thier heads there is also a cloud of toxic hanging and waiting to be released in case their suggested gimmick failed to provide them anything. It would be wise for some of these leaders to realy pay a close attention to matters which the Devil Union is involved in. They have all kind of problems in their own countries that need solving, which they ignore, so what motivated them to go that far and tried to solve others problems? They are not wish-makers. Period!
Any premature argument is irrelevent and unnecessary.

The violence in South Sudan is caused by Non-Equatorian Tribe!!
According to reseach, it is confirmed that most of violence are caused by non-Equatorian tribe therefore, soon than later there will be Non-Junglese seperation which everybody are starving waiting for slowly but sure we in EQS will get rid of those IDPs who have become problems to our people.
Dear Sir Kiir, it is getting later for your boys to change the ways they are living. My question is, will you blame EQs if we push your boys out due to the fact that they are the sources of violence in South Sudan?????
