Sudan calls for international arbitration over border dispute with Egypt
October 20, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – The issue of the disputed border region with Egypt should be transferred to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), a senior Sudanese official said.
Ahmed, is from Eastern Sudan, urged all Sudanese political parties to have a “clear and united stance” on the issue.
The Sudanese official said that Egypt should accept international arbitration in the same manner it did with Israel over the town of Taba at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba.
In the past Egypt has dismissed any such calls.
This month Sudan’s electoral commission took the highly unexpected step and announced that the residents of the Red Sea border area of Halayeb will be allowed to register as voters in the elections.
The board declared that all villages and areas of Halayeb triangle contain Sudanese citizens with constitutional rights under the color of law.
Last year Egyptian authorities blocked Sudanese census agents from entering the region forcing them to exclude the region despite attempts to reverse Cairo’s decision.
However, the Eastern Front movement challenged the initial exclusion of the region from the geographical constituencies which was sustained by the board.
Egyptian officials have avoided publicly reacting to Khartoum’s move while stressing that the area is an “integral part of Egypt” but saying that they do not wish to escalate the matter.
This week an Egyptian legislator queried the government on their course of action regarding Sudan’s announcement saying that Cairo “should be aware of the conspiracies on the borders”.
The Halayeb triangle that overlooks the Red Sea has been a source of tension between the two countries as early as 1958, shortly after Sudan gained independence from British-Egyptian rule.
The border issue was laid to rest until the 1990’s when relations between the two countries worsened over accusations that Sudan is harboring Islamic militant groups seeking to overthrow the Egyptian regime.
A failed attempt on the life of the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was blamed on Khartoum after which Cairo moved to assert control over the area.

This is the important subject that all northerns and Sudanese as a whole are now more concerns with this issue of Halayed, we will not leave a single pieces of our lands to this Egyptian invaders and occupiers , our government might be conspiring with this Egyptian occupiers but all northerners and Arab of sudan will not settle for naything less than getting all our lands but and we will not go to the ICC we are ready to face the Egyptians int he battle field and iberate our land ,let them learn from the al mahdi movement of 1884 and how he liberated Sudan from this anglo-Egyptian colonial powers ,we are the sons of al mahdi and we will get our lands back by hook or crook if this is what will satisfy Egyptian otherwise let them give the land back to Sudan without any prolonging situation ,when they invaded the land in 1995 everybody know this was a sudanese land, now we hear the Egyptian government responsding by saying the Halayeb case is close,no the case is not close and will never be close on under our dead bodies.NCP of omer basher has to take this issue serious with the Egyptians authority that we want the landback,or else NCP will be also accountable in the conspiracy to occupy sudanese lands.I call upon Sudanese to rise up and prepare for jihad ,northern Arabs are not cowards if that is what Egyptians think of us because we be nice to them,we are now preparing to form the Sudan Halayeb liberation movement (SHLM) ALLAH AKBAR and death to Egyptian occupiers.

The Halayeb is no deal, because they are not Nubian Tribes nor called to be a Egyptian!
They are extended tribes of Ethiopians of Kenyan bantu origin Kikuyu/Tigrinya/Amhara Africans.
The matter will be if Sudan gives back 300 miles north from Khartoum to Egypt, so that will make Egyptian Donglah with Sudanese Mahas Nobiins to be united as ONE.
So, the Halayeb will be given back to Sudan, which is no problem at it all with Egypt.
These tribes of Afar/Beja are not Egyptian nor called to be recognized as Nobiin, and no problem to given to Sudan, or sent them back to Ethiopian East Africa, the Bantu Capitol.
If Sudan will given back 2nd Cataract north of Nubian territories to 6th Cataracts by 300 miles North of the capitol Khartoum of Sudan, so Nobiin will united as ONE and can’t be separated anymore!
The matter is Nobiin remains united with Aswan, Egypt and capitol Memphis/Egypt as declared my King Tirhakah.

Again, Nobatia, Makuria and Alwa were the oldest Christian Kingdom of Africa by Nubian Peoples.

Sorry northerners, but you have been colonized by Egypt for a very long time, when will your leaders be brave and stand up in the face of this Egyptians who do whever they want with northerners all the time?
Northerners do not be afraid of Egypt, since they are the ones who occupy your land, you have every right to defend yourselves.
