Chad and Sudan discuss security issues
December 24, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The Sudanese president Omer Al-Bashir discussed today with the visiting Chadian foreign minister security issues related to the rebel activities in the border areas.
The Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moussa Faki Mahamat, accompanied by the Chadian intelligence chief and other senior officials have met on Thursday morning with President Al-Bashir said the charge d’affaires at the Embassy of Chad in Khartoum.
The meeting also was attended by the Sudanese minister of Defense Abelrahim M. Hussein and minister of Interior Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid.
The visiting official also held talks with the Presidential adviser Ghazi Salah Al-Deen and Atta Mohamed Al-Moula, the head of Sudanese intelligence.
Moussa’s visit comes after a trip by Sudanese presidential adviser Ghazi to Ndjamena last October where he discussed with the President Idriss Deby ways to ease the current tension between the two countries.
Analysts say the main issue of talks remains the control of border to prevent rebel groups from crossing between the two countries.
President Deby said last October that President Al-Bashir had committed himself to remove the Chadian rebels and to confine them far from the border. He also said he agreed to allow Sudan to verify the presence of Darfur rebels in his country.

Packages of security agreements was signed but nothing has materialized until now, as the Islamists of Khartoum are refusing to desist from their atrocious plan of toppling Debbe regime and replace it with a puppet pro- Khartoum Janjaweedized regime. However, it doesn’t work putting a cover on a volcano, because Khartoum will not be satisfied with nothing less than seeing Debbe out of power. Therefore, they will continue showing their cover-ups diplomacy while they are going on with their stratagems.
