Kiir relieves state governors; re-appoints some as caretakers

By James Gatdet Dak

February 19, 2010 (JUBA) – All state governors in Southern Sudan, with the exception of Upper Nile state governor, have been removed by a presidential decree announced on Friday, 19th February 2010.

Kiir_at_Governors_forum_02102008.jpgThe relief of the governors comes in the wake of announcement of final list of candidates by the National Elections Commission (NEC) for the April elections and the region enters into intensive election campaigns as the polling day is just over one month away.

In the decree signed by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, five incumbent governors were re-appointed as caretaker governors in their respective states of Central Equatoria, Western Equatoria, Jonglei, Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Unity states.

The new faces who were appointed as caretaker governors include Simon Kon Oajuk for Western Bahr el Ghazal state, Telar Ring Deng for Lakes state, Johnson Juma Okot for Eastern Equatoria state and Salva Mathok Gengdit for Warrap state.

The four governors who were replaced include Mark Nyipuoch Obang, Daniel Awet Akot, Aloysius Emor Ojetuk and Tor Deng Mawien, respectively.

All the incumbent governors who were nominated by the SPLM Political Bureau to defend their governorship positions in the elections were all re-appointed as caretaker governors in their respective states.

The governor of Upper Nile state is always a nominee of the National Congress Party (NCP) as well as his or her replacement.

Earlier, Kiir said all his ministers contesting in the elections could also be relieved and some re-appointed as caretakers.

Legislative Assemblies at all levels of government are also expected to be dissolved.

All civil servants, military personnel and judges whose names appear in the final list of candidates are supposed to resign from their jobs by law and join the elections race.

    SPLM for demoCRAZY, not demoCRACY,

    Ahahahahahahahaaaaa………

You guys are beating the drums of what you will regret pretty soooooooooooooon!!!

The 1991 blessed year brought you the idea of democracy, yet you don’t know how to implement it…

The 1991 blessed year championed for you self-determination to independence of the South, yet you don’t know how to peacefully and in unity reach it…

Now you have lied to the people of South Sudan that you are for democracy, and instead want to implement democrazy or communism…

You know what, Salva Kiir will NEVER be sworn in as the next and first ELECTED president in the South.

    Mark my words…

    Dear readers,

I think our party elites are making terrible mistake here. It seems as these people are working for the down fall of this well respected party. Why are they making decisions blindly? Is it true that Salva Kiir is killing Dr. Garang vision by bringing down the party? I hope not because these Gogrials yielded nothing by far.

Salva need to realize that these decisions will affect the party because a party with out people can’t exists. SPLM support is dwelling in many states and people are having negative opinion about our party in such a important time as this. These governors need to relieved of their duty and let the states be run by deputy governors until they are declared winners or losers. This will only increase the negative opinion that exists already.

As a party, we need to think beyond 2010 election because good things are ahead of us. Don’t push people away from SPLM by making “unwise” decisions as such. Work on positive attributes that are going to expands our majority. If our leaders continue to push in this direction, Independent party is going to dunk on us big time.

Comrade Mathok Gengdit welcome to our belove state (Warrap)with position of being caretaker. the caretaking you are choosen for is not a simple job. Warrap is in trauble of ethnic clashes and inter boader desputes. therefore you need to take caurage and look with all wills as long term you save SPLM/A with no one day defacted else were.

I personely urge you to take your first periority in calming the situation of the people living in boarder area like Apuk, Lou, kongor, Twic and greater Tonj as whole.

secondly, there is little confusion in SPLM with the other political parties in which I want to alert you briefly. The other political parties have played many tricks to disarm SPLM like what DR LAM did before. so, your time is full of exirties but nothing is imposible to God. he will and will stand firmly to deliver people through you Comrade.

    long live SPLM
    long live W/S
    long live new Sudan

Good for you Gonernor Aleusio Ojetuk of SSEE, Torit “Ongida bebe” change is good but don’t die of blood pressure because some of you did not expect to be removed from the governor’s possitions. I think is always good to start a good new life. But my question is that where will you put your village mates and relatives because they have been your bodyguards, your seccretaries, and so on was this fair to employ you relatives, clan and cousins? I think personally it was not logical.Bey, bey Mze Ojetuk. Aching rach

Greedy Dinka orphans with poor states. You can quack, hiss, meaw and even fart, but the reality will remain true. You are disgrace to South Sudan as the World Bank says.

If it were not because of Nuer oil in their states that feeds you like orphans, you would have abandoned South Sudan and rushed to refugee camps in Kenya and Uganda like you did to Itang during the hunger crisis in Dinkaland.

Where would you get the 8 billion dollars which you are scrambing over shamelessly like greedy orphans if the Nuer states of Unity and Upper Nile do not feed your poor buts.

Shame on you. The good thing is that Ngundeng predicted that your leadership will NEVER smell independence of the South. You end in 2010!!!

Garang died during his caretaker government in 2005 after getting crazy and wanting to cause chaos in the South. Do you remember the state caretaker governors during Garang’s death?

Well, Ngundeng doesn’t like the word ‘caretaker’ system in the South which makes leaders go crazy. You will see what he will soon do to Kiir during this caretaker governors period. History is repeating itself, fools!!!

I am really sorry that things are taking this turn. God will safe our land from our leaders. Salva Kiir was expected to deliever on his promise that he will shoulder the democracy in the South, at least to show Notherners that this is what we fought for. However, the thing turnout to be how to building a Dinka kingdom.

what was lacking from Dinka that they have to achieve by destorying the South? Five years peroid is nearly going since the Dinka was left by other Southerners looting pubic resources, yet this tribe can’t realize the worse it inflect on South Sudanese. What is it that will fill this empty barrier? Yet a Dinka always say Nuer is greedy, yet we other South Sudanese know Nuer cannot do what Dinka are doing now because they are not as greedy.

Why SPLM Party has to make all these childish decisions against the its people from grassroot against the wise advice from its vice chairperson, Dr. Riek Machar? when will the SPLM party stop working against its builders like Riek?

Nuer has been patient enough both in SPLM as a party and as a part of Goverment of Southern Sudan. We all know it is not a fear of Dinka because we know the history but the consequence of Nuer reaction to Dinka’s maladministration of Southern Sudan. I have no idea how people like James Hoth, Taban Deng, Ezekil Lol, John Lok and the rest who blindly support SPLM think about this Dinka behaviour. But I am sure when things are in way they are now “Gaatdiali” take responsibilities from “Gaatjaani”. A Nuer friend told me. But I don’t know how “Diaal” are the Nuer men I numerated up here within this post. People like Bol Kong, Gatduel Nyakuach, Gatdet Yak, Chayot Manyang, Matip may come to rescue sometime in.

I am not wishing bad for South Sudan but enough is nearly enough!!!!!!!
