Sudan elected rapporteur for workshop on chemical weapons ban in Ethiopia

KHARTOUM, April 26, 2004 (SUNA) — Sudan was selected, in the person of Ambassador Daf’allah al-Haj Ali, as rapporteur for Addis Ababa’s workshop on the universality of chemical weapons ban agreement.

This came during a workshop for realizing universality for chemical weapons ban agreement in Africa, organized by the Ethiopian government in collaboration with the Chemical Weapons Ban Organization and the African Union in Addis Abba on 20 April.

The director of the organization hailed the pioneering role of Sudan in introducing the agreement in Africa as well as the role of the minister of foreign affairs, Dr Mustafa Uthman Isma’il, and the chairman of the Sudanese national organization.
