AU sends election monitors to Sudan led by former Ghanaian president
April 1, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — The African Union (AU) is dispatching its monitors to observe this month’s elections in Sudan, it was announced today.
The 50-member mission will be led by Former Ghanaian president John Kufuor to join a team of 8 already in Sudan since March 18 to promote respect of the code of electoral conduct to which 26 parties taking part in the vote have signed up, the AU said.
The AU joins a number of organizations including the European Union (EU), Arab League and Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) which are also monitoring the elections.
The elections are on shaky grounds after Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) and other opposition parties announced that they are boycotting the polls citing ruling party hegemony over the state resources and the electoral mission.
The AU currently has a panel led by former South African president Thabo Mbeki to seek implementation of a roadmap on Darfur and oversee the progress ofteh Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

Who have nothing can give nothing.What so call the International Community failed to diagnose Sudan problem, due to conflicts of interests and shortsightness of those individuals assinged the mission. Sudan has become victim of many pollars; the Arabs, opportunists like Thabo Bin Mbeki and those good hearted who were defeated by those using oil money.
I think instead of thinking on elections I advice what so call International Opportunity to prepare for the consequences of the new fresh genocide that is going to take place in Sudan.
